Overview

Air Canada has launched a new app that combines the benefits of the Aeroplan loyalty program with the convenience of managing Air Canada trips in one place. Users can sign in with Aeroplan to access loyalty program benefits, view their points balance, track Elite status progress, and access popular program features like Family Sharing, eStore, car rental, and hotels. The app also allows users to book their next trip using cash or by redeeming Aeroplan points, and even pay % of their fare using points, including taxes, fees, and charges. The app provides timely updates on the home screen, prompting users when it's time to check-in, showing upcoming flight status, and even offering the flight's menu when it's almost time to eat on flights offering meal service. As the flight approaches, the boarding pass appears throughout the app for quick access, and boarding passes are saved for offline use in the app. Notifications keep users up to date with flight and gate changes and cancellations. The app also includes turn-by-turn airport navigation, a first for a Canadian airline, available in Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL), and Vancouver (YVR), with more coming soon. By downloading or updating the app, users consent to the installation of the app, its future updates and upgrades, and to the Air Canada Mobile App "Terms of Use" that govern the use of the app. The app uses location data to show the closest airport(s) for booking and flight status, and to present the correct boarding passes at connecting airports, and to provide the current location when using airport maps. Push notifications are used to send service messages related to upcoming travel, and users can add images to the feedback they send to Air Canada. Air Canada may collect data about users' devices to serve them the correct software, as well as maintain and develop its services. Users can withdraw their consent at any time by uninstalling the app. The app requires users to change some of their device settings to use specific features and collects personal information as detailed in the Privacy Policy.
