Overview

The Getty Images app is designed for creative and media professionals, as well as photography enthusiasts. It offers a homescreen that showcases the best photography from around the world. Users can search and share a collection of creative, editorial, and archival imagery at any time and from anywhere. The app allows users to tap on an image to view it in full-screen and zoom in for a closer look.

One of the app's features is the ability to view VR photos and videos. Users can explore VR content by panning their device or using Google Cardboard. The app also provides a home screen where users can browse image galleries curated by Getty Images' editors. This includes editorial images of pop culture celebrities and the latest national and world events.

The Getty Images app offers a comprehensive search and filter function. Users can search through over 60 million creative, editorial, and archival images, as well as videos. Filters can be applied to narrow down the search results to find the exact images needed. Users can also sign in to their Getty Images account to save images to their boards or create new ones in real time.

For Getty Images Premium Access, Easy-access, Editorial Subscription, and UltraPack customers, the app allows image assets to be downloaded to their Android devices. However, it's important to note that these downloads count against the Getty Images agreement. Additionally, users can easily share links to single images with colleagues or clients via email, message, or through various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

What is the latest version of Getty Images?

The latest version currently listed by Appspicked is V4.1.7, with information updated on Mar 11, 2026. Versions may vary by device, region, or rollout schedule, so users should also check Google Play or announcements from Getty Images.

Is Getty Images safe to download and use?

No website can guarantee that an app is completely risk-free. Appspicked recommends downloading Getty Images only from an official app store or a verified channel operated by Getty Images. Before installing, confirm the developer name, package ID com.gettyimages.gettyimages, requested permissions, privacy policy, and download source.

Why can’t I find Getty Images in the App Store?

Getty Images may be unavailable because of regional restrictions, device incompatibility, account or age settings, a temporary removal, a name change, or because it has not been released for that platform. An Android package page does not necessarily mean that an iOS App Store version exists. Check Getty Images’s official website for current availability.

Where can I download or update Getty Images?

Use Google Play or another official download channel provided by Getty Images whenever possible. Appspicked provides app information and store links, but users should verify the destination domain and publisher before downloading or updating the app.

Why is the version shown on Appspicked different from the app-store version?

The information on Appspicked may represent the most recently indexed snapshot. App stores sometimes release updates gradually or display different versions according to region, device, operating system, or testing group. The official store listing should be treated as the final reference.

Which devices and operating systems support Getty Images?

Getty Images is listed for Android, with a reported minimum requirement of Not specified. Actual compatibility may also depend on the device model, region, available storage, hardware features, and installed system components.

Is Getty Images free?

The initial download may be free, but subscriptions, advertising, paid features, or in-app purchases may still apply. Prices and available purchases can vary by country and version. Check the payment information displayed by Google Play before completing a transaction.

What should I do if Getty Images cannot be installed or updated?

Check the network connection, storage space, operating-system version, account region, and device compatibility. Restart the device and try again through the official store. If the problem continues, consult the support resources provided by Getty Images.
