Overview

Evie is a free Text To Speech (TTS) app that transforms written text into an audible narration. It is ad-free and can be used for as long as you want with any TTS engine on your phone. You can listen to a book while commuting, working out, gardening, or even while going to sleep. Evie can read out loud even in the background or with the screen turned off. You can control playback with your earphones buttons, either Bluetooth or wired. Evie offers an equalizer to fine-tune the sound the way you like it.

Evie does not require any permissions to run and does not need access to your files, contacts, or any other information. It does not read nor store cookies on your phone. Evie integrates with Polly, the TTS engine from Amazon, which is a cloud service that uses deep learning technologies to synthesize speech that sounds like a human voice. This is a paid feature and requires an Evie account. Evie offers simple in-app purchases for a pay-as-you-go model.

Evie can help you learn a foreign language by repeating each sentence multiple times and waiting for you to repeat. It can also translate each sentence on the fly and read the translation out loud to you. Evie supports various file types, including ePub electronic books, PDF documents, MOBI, AZW, and AZW3 books, FB2 and compressed FB2, Microsoft DOCX documents, rich text documents, HTML pages, and text documents. Evie offers an advanced re-flow option allowing you to comfortably read PDF files on small screen devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the latest version of Evie?

The latest version currently listed by Appspicked is V12.1.2, with information updated on Mar 11, 2026. Versions may vary by device, region, or rollout schedule, so users should also check Google Play or announcements from Alfred Faltiska.

Is Evie safe to download and use?

No website can guarantee that an app is completely risk-free. Appspicked recommends downloading Evie only from an official app store or a verified channel operated by Alfred Faltiska. Before installing, confirm the developer name, package ID com.lenntt.evoicereader, requested permissions, privacy policy, and download source.

Why can’t I find Evie in the App Store?

Evie may be unavailable because of regional restrictions, device incompatibility, account or age settings, a temporary removal, a name change, or because it has not been released for that platform. An Android package page does not necessarily mean that an iOS App Store version exists. Check Alfred Faltiska’s official website for current availability.

Where can I download or update Evie?

Use Google Play or another official download channel provided by Alfred Faltiska whenever possible. Appspicked provides app information and store links, but users should verify the destination domain and publisher before downloading or updating the app.

Why is the version shown on Appspicked different from the app-store version?

The information on Appspicked may represent the most recently indexed snapshot. App stores sometimes release updates gradually or display different versions according to region, device, operating system, or testing group. The official store listing should be treated as the final reference.

Which devices and operating systems support Evie?

Evie is listed for Android, with a reported minimum requirement of Not specified. Actual compatibility may also depend on the device model, region, available storage, hardware features, and installed system components.

Is Evie free?

The initial download may be free, but subscriptions, advertising, paid features, or in-app purchases may still apply. Prices and available purchases can vary by country and version. Check the payment information displayed by Google Play before completing a transaction.

What should I do if Evie cannot be installed or updated?

Check the network connection, storage space, operating-system version, account region, and device compatibility. Restart the device and try again through the official store. If the problem continues, consult the support resources provided by Alfred Faltiska.
