Overview

The "GREEN$ Mobile App" is a smartphone application created by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Hong Kong government. Its main purpose is to enable the public to participate in the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme (ePIS) through their smartphones. By joining the GREEN$ ePIS, individuals can earn GREEN$ that can be used to redeem gift items when they recycle materials at designated Recycling Stations, Recycling Stores, and Recycling Spots. This app aims to encourage clean recycling practices and reward individuals for their efforts. The app provides a convenient platform for users to track their recycling activities and earn rewards. Users can easily locate nearby recycling facilities through the app's integrated map feature, making it easier for them to find the most convenient locations to drop off their recyclables. By submitting their recyclables at these designated locations, users can accumulate GREEN$ that can be exchanged for a variety of gift items. This not only incentivizes individuals to recycle but also promotes a more sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle. The GREEN$ Mobile App is part of the government's efforts to promote recycling and environmental awareness in Hong Kong. By utilizing smartphone technology, the app makes it more accessible for individuals to participate in the ePIS and contribute to a greener future. With its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, the app aims to engage and educate the public on the importance of recycling and sustainable practices. Through the GREEN$ Mobile App, the government hopes to foster a culture of responsible waste management and encourage more individuals to actively participate in recycling initiatives.
